I just became a very busy single mom! However in the last while, have been carving out time to be with my machines again and get back to my love of sewing. <br /><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-W3JaIkUFKPw/YIYBAyfNEPI/AAAAAAABOhk/iCcv5vs-dbEvW0gmkxB7xgpPNREvjfQmgCNcBGAsYHQ/s2543/20210421_133351.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2543" data-original-width="1236" height="210" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-W3JaIkUFKPw/YIYBAyfNEPI/AAAAAAABOhk/iCcv5vs-dbEvW0gmkxB7xgpPNREvjfQmgCNcBGAsYHQ/w102-h210/20210421_133351.jpg" width="102" /></a></div><p></p><p>However this journey has taken me to new places. Taking on custom work for people, jumping into both cloth and embroidery and masks for these masking times. It is amazing how a skill set can be developed and evolve into this huge love and passion. My daughter is certainly enjoying the side effects of my love, and has start dreaming and asking for specific items!</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RGOs_S3MrMo/YIYCAMCWlEI/AAAAAAABOiQ/0oD4s4P-K68x3ETo_U-Uv7_OE39lnrSSwCNcBGAsYHQ/s2543/20210422_165130.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2543" data-original-width="1236" height="149" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RGOs_S3MrMo/YIYCAMCWlEI/AAAAAAABOiQ/0oD4s4P-K68x3ETo_U-Uv7_OE39lnrSSwCNcBGAsYHQ/w73-h149/20210422_165130.jpg" width="73" /></a></div><br />So may it is time I dust you off blog, and start blogging about my new journey's and creations.<p></p>Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00976915021617213679noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6119625813213774140.post-62220304324925879612013-09-08T15:57:00.000-07:002013-09-08T15:57:13.825-07:00A Weekend Worth of Work :)<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Alright, so I had a little success focusing on sewing this weekend :D</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The first item I did up is to hold the door latch for the nursery room. So that I can sneak in quietly to check on baby. Mostly though, so that if Roxy Dog decides to barge in during feeding or nap time, it wont make a noise. Yes, she has a knack for making doors open.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-06bBCcrCiqs/Uiz_KRc2YgI/AAAAAAAACOs/vkSODgvXLtw/s1600/IMG_8846.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-06bBCcrCiqs/Uiz_KRc2YgI/AAAAAAAACOs/vkSODgvXLtw/s1600/IMG_8846.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Second I made a travel change pad clutch that is full waterproof. Just give it a good wipe to hold you over until a wash is possible. I just have to seal the needle holes by zapping it in the dryer for 20 minutes.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rrrN93ky-LE/Uiz_N9aK_TI/AAAAAAAACO8/zmRrClkYhes/s1600/IMG_8847.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rrrN93ky-LE/Uiz_N9aK_TI/AAAAAAAACO8/zmRrClkYhes/s1600/IMG_8847.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
The bonus is I built in a little pocket to keep some wipes and a diaper tucked. Likely to come in handy if just going for a walk with the dog but want to be prepared for an emergency diaper change :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KmbYZWEEkoY/Uiz_Mb6ydAI/AAAAAAAACO0/ulaik3ylHGA/s1600/IMG_8848.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KmbYZWEEkoY/Uiz_Mb6ydAI/AAAAAAAACO0/ulaik3ylHGA/s1600/IMG_8848.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Not pictured here is a nursing cover I made. It just slips over my head and fully covers me, front and back. Will help to keep my back side warm in the winter, and help to keep the cover in place when at the park and there is a breeze. Imagine a garbage back with a hole for the head, similar idea, just out of pretty fabric and mad to fit better :) I inserted a triangle of fabric to make it wider towards the bottom to allow for movement. It was that, or go spend money on a stretchy fabric. I opted to use what I had in my stash! Picture to come soon, when I feel like being in a picture :)</div>
<br /><br />Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00976915021617213679noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6119625813213774140.post-78820019416250536172013-08-25T15:40:00.001-07:002013-08-25T15:40:49.269-07:00More baby additions :)<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So this morning I started these curtains, that strangely look like the crib skirt :) I took a break in the middle to take some little boys fishing, but they are finished now! I was nervous about having the lines match up, pheeew!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fZLcbPfetLk/UhqHdQIkm9I/AAAAAAAACOQ/0d-5UHNGPAM/s1600/IMG_8842.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fZLcbPfetLk/UhqHdQIkm9I/AAAAAAAACOQ/0d-5UHNGPAM/s1600/IMG_8842.JPG" height="320" width="213" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is a mobile I bought, and used to pull the nursery colors from. However where it is now dots, it use to be stripes. In the end, the stripes just weren't doing it for me anymore. So I replaced those parts on it :) Voila, now it matches everything else!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xRtsDb98dEI/UhqHbog1dbI/AAAAAAAACOI/wRrw1iaQlC4/s1600/IMG_8844.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xRtsDb98dEI/UhqHbog1dbI/AAAAAAAACOI/wRrw1iaQlC4/s1600/IMG_8844.JPG" height="320" width="213" /></a></div>
<br />Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00976915021617213679noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6119625813213774140.post-58652831216089451272013-08-23T12:14:00.003-07:002013-08-23T12:14:59.436-07:00Baby Stuffing it up!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Ok, some of this stuff has been here and done, but I just hadn't done the thread trimming on them. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These are my light weight gauze swaddle blankets, just in case I visit someone that likes to heat their house lots, or I go somewhere tropical (hahahaha).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-POdt3mSBCy0/UheyNeUsHsI/AAAAAAAACNI/16f64pUkkkA/s1600/IMG_8834.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-POdt3mSBCy0/UheyNeUsHsI/AAAAAAAACNI/16f64pUkkkA/s1600/IMG_8834.JPG" height="320" width="213" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These are my blankets I made for baby that are just standard flannel. I am figuring between spit ups or dog stealing the blanket, I could go through a few of them. I made them bigger than standard size, just so that they can be more versatile.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OYGJHLB4YUA/UheyVmuxumI/AAAAAAAACNY/aNu6uxj_BOI/s1600/IMG_8835.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OYGJHLB4YUA/UheyVmuxumI/AAAAAAAACNY/aNu6uxj_BOI/s1600/IMG_8835.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Wipes, yip, everyone needs those. Figure I am washing diapers anyway, so why not a wipe. Otherwise I will just have a garbage can for disposable wipes. Some are double side for bum wipes, some are single sided for face/hand wipes. (mostly for later on when those are needed more)</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7rO4dAnNvlw/UheyN-0sClI/AAAAAAAACNQ/eqBIWLb9Ovo/s1600/IMG_8836.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7rO4dAnNvlw/UheyN-0sClI/AAAAAAAACNQ/eqBIWLb9Ovo/s1600/IMG_8836.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
My personally designed crib skirt. First thing I think I actually went and sketched out and made on my own.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3qL_5fCmozc/UheykX8-ZmI/AAAAAAAACNg/nZ9fj8Dr3V0/s1600/IMG_8838.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3qL_5fCmozc/UheykX8-ZmI/AAAAAAAACNg/nZ9fj8Dr3V0/s1600/IMG_8838.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I even fastened it to the crib spring area....with paper clips! Yip, cuz I had them floating around all over the place. So when I drop the crib down, I can just paper clip up the fabric to where I need to and voila!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-r--wfDqnhHM/UheylEa3CjI/AAAAAAAACNo/d7k6Q4PHM-k/s1600/IMG_8839.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-r--wfDqnhHM/UheylEa3CjI/AAAAAAAACNo/d7k6Q4PHM-k/s1600/IMG_8839.JPG" height="320" width="213" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Ok, this was a Pinterest find that I made. It is my foot stool for my chair in the nursery. Ryan actually sat on it last night and it help his weight (much to my surprise). I can thank my friend Marcia for the paint color. She gave me the can 2 years ago of a mis-tint for her house. The color works perfect in my nursery and I have painted a few other things out with it. YAY</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8nTIfFsswHg/UheyqVZkEEI/AAAAAAAACNw/iM4ri0_Tpoo/s1600/IMG_8840.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8nTIfFsswHg/UheyqVZkEEI/AAAAAAAACNw/iM4ri0_Tpoo/s1600/IMG_8840.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And the best part, remove the lid and the inside is storage. I opted to put books inside and since it is on wheels, I can just roll it around if I need it elsewhere :)</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EyTB-kkB2Ag/UheyvzLg98I/AAAAAAAACN4/gguPdTZtlng/s1600/IMG_8841.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EyTB-kkB2Ag/UheyvzLg98I/AAAAAAAACN4/gguPdTZtlng/s1600/IMG_8841.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00976915021617213679noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6119625813213774140.post-72947460446974882852013-08-22T07:12:00.002-07:002013-08-22T07:12:53.085-07:00A quilt of Love<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So, I should have posted this long ago, as it was a wedding gift for May 4th, 2013. However, time hasn't been on my side, but I am getting to it now. When I finished it the month before the wedding, I had to forget about the quilt, so that I wouldn't post pictures and ruin their wedding gift.</div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-QgTNAad4qI4/UhYWHfX3QhI/AAAAAAAACLg/1Szn02RbhiM/s1600/IMG_6434.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-QgTNAad4qI4/UhYWHfX3QhI/AAAAAAAACLg/1Szn02RbhiM/s1600/IMG_6434.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">A long day of work goes better with come coffee!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My husband's best friends said they were getting married, and I knew they would appreciate a quilt. I knew this because his wife to be crochets and knits some pretty amazing things! So I asked them if someone was to make them something, what kind of theme would they pick. I listed a few and they came back to me with "Rustic". Now that can be interpreted in some weird ways, plaid, deer, orange and shot guns, or vintage or however else you personally might view it. So I did my best to make something I loved, that fell into their chosen theme.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VLMkvOycO70/UhYWMcYDbgI/AAAAAAAACLw/019eAXXnQbg/s1600/IMG_6436.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VLMkvOycO70/UhYWMcYDbgI/AAAAAAAACLw/019eAXXnQbg/s1600/IMG_6436.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It started with HUNDREDS of little squares I had to cut out (yes there is an easier faster way, but this was made from scraps, so no short cuts here), sew them together, twice and cut them in halft. That is how I made my squares composed of 2 triangles<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mqMdjTYaReg/UhYXXgbBNSI/AAAAAAAACMw/YtkegAx0tKQ/s1600/IMG_4013.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mqMdjTYaReg/UhYXXgbBNSI/AAAAAAAACMw/YtkegAx0tKQ/s1600/IMG_4013.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Once I had those, I had to press them flat and start laying them out on my bed. I had to figure out where each one was going so that I did't end up with all of the same fabric in the same area. Once that was done, I had to mark them so I didn't mess up the layout and sew the squares together to makes Rows!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-D_52Z7hw4C4/UhYXYcAfhfI/AAAAAAAACM4/QeGKsoBRG-8/s1600/IMG_4015.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-D_52Z7hw4C4/UhYXYcAfhfI/AAAAAAAACM4/QeGKsoBRG-8/s1600/IMG_4015.JPG" height="320" width="213" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Obviously next came pressing those and putting the rows together. After I had to go visit the amazing Aunt Liz! She has the Long Arm that allows me to free motion sew the quilt together. However, I wanted the quilt to have a story, so I only sewed the squares in the middle by machine. A decision I would soon realized would mean lots of time spent free sewing on my little machine.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PSiO46s6qXg/UhYVz5hqcaI/AAAAAAAACLA/6lYy-hg_WXQ/s1600/IMG_6428.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PSiO46s6qXg/UhYVz5hqcaI/AAAAAAAACLA/6lYy-hg_WXQ/s1600/IMG_6428.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If you notice, the pink note on the machine. That's for me! My machine wont sew unless the needle is down, this one will let you go for miles and mess up your quilt. I obviously learned that the hard way on a previous quilt. It is a bugger and a half to take out that mess!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cVhDthxYrk0/UhYV0tgh4TI/AAAAAAAACLI/7c6wfXSQuIE/s1600/IMG_6430.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cVhDthxYrk0/UhYV0tgh4TI/AAAAAAAACLI/7c6wfXSQuIE/s1600/IMG_6430.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
So the story in my head, was the meandering sewing in the middle is just crazy life, and all that goes on in it. The maroon border was a wave, resembling the ripples in life and relationships. The next border is the thin blue, I did it in looping circles, to resemble the couple coming together, finding each other and the continuing relationship. The Stars in the tan border, and the most time consuming of all of them, was to resemble the sparks of their love and marriage. <br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WsP0Fy2VMFE/UhYWHr0BUWI/AAAAAAAACLk/BCQApTHA0jY/s1600/IMG_6433.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WsP0Fy2VMFE/UhYWHr0BUWI/AAAAAAAACLk/BCQApTHA0jY/s1600/IMG_6433.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Lots of tracing to make sure the stars looked like stars!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<br />
The last border was the thick blue one, which was more looping circles, resembling the unity of their marriage and how many more things are to come for them and complete their life together. In my head, that is how I justified each style of boarder I sewed. I believe most people just sew what looks good and cohesive, but I needed something more.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_5aYLTJtjoY/UhYWmTAnxNI/AAAAAAAACL4/88NlMuamRfc/s1600/936126_301156480017022_865560770_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_5aYLTJtjoY/UhYWmTAnxNI/AAAAAAAACL4/88NlMuamRfc/s1600/936126_301156480017022_865560770_n.jpg" height="212" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Aunt Liz made an embroidered label for the back, so the couple will know where it came from, but more importantly, so they can always remember their wedding date and year!</div>
<br />

This was my second queen size quilt and likely the most intense quilt I have done yet. I hope it isn't a sign of things to come, as this took the bulk of a week to just do the finishing work on. But I love the final product, and the best part is, so does the couple. I hope it keeps them warm for years and that they continue to enjoy it :)<br />

So this whole process has taken 2 months, but only because of some family visiting, family illness and than a 2 week vacation for us. So, I finally found motivation upon the return from vacation and I am done! 24 Diapers ready to go! This is a sample of all of the colors/patterns I did up. The yellow one was the very very first diaper I did, it was a learner for sure!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aBYTzSnmaqE/UhYSvsa0BPI/AAAAAAAACKk/RJ-NRa3GXh4/s1600/IMG_8828.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aBYTzSnmaqE/UhYSvsa0BPI/AAAAAAAACKk/RJ-NRa3GXh4/s1600/IMG_8828.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I can only hope that this last as long as I expect on the child. I certainly don't know if I will have energy to make another size later on....but I am a bit of a pro at it now, so maybe it wont be so bad....ha!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cpwgOVtod90/UhYStuMDgRI/AAAAAAAACKU/2Gub8GSLBNA/s1600/IMG_8829.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cpwgOVtod90/UhYStuMDgRI/AAAAAAAACKU/2Gub8GSLBNA/s1600/IMG_8829.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
I can honestly say it was cost saving to make them, but unless you enjoy spending your time sewing, not time effective. Me, I enjoy being able to say that I made these. However the soakers for the middle, I can't make cheaper than a local lady is selling the homemade ones for.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I decided to have fun with the liner, knowing they only get stained anyway! Who really wants to see old poop stains, when you can use something that kinda blends it in and is WAY more fun :)<br />

There were such fun to make! They are for my Nieces who are learning to eat from place-mats I figured what would be more fun that each of them having one they wanted to use each meal! The wings are fun little pockets for the utensils....or to hide food they don't want to eat maybe?! I think they will enjoy getting these for their birthdays next month!</div>

I started this project...hmmm..how long ago....a year and a half ago...best guess. It is suppose to be a baby play mat, but the kid I originally intended it for is well past needing it. Now I will add it to the stash so I have something on hand for my next baby shower when it comes up!</div>

Ok, so this was a quilt kit my Mother in Law gave me a Christmas. It was for a Crib Size quilt, I dunno, buy maybe she is hinting at something with this..hmm. I opted to make it, and start picking away at the kits I have stock piled. I really enjoy the colors in this one. I started it over March Break at Aunt Liz's place and just finished hand sewing the binding last night. Now it must sit and wait for a baby, so it can find a home and purpose!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You can see some paper still stuck to the quilt. I used tracing paper to quilt the design on, and I think I will be picking out paper for some time to come!</div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AeX0qnNFH5o/UViyeHXioFI/AAAAAAAACEg/3OdxMWsQGz8/s1600/IMG_6507.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: #b45f06;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AeX0qnNFH5o/UViyeHXioFI/AAAAAAAACEg/3OdxMWsQGz8/s1600/IMG_6507.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<span style="color: #b45f06;">Now you might be wondering, what would one make with an old pair of jeans that are way too big now, and some polka dot fabric? Well.....</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_X3iVa-MoeM/UViybV7LlUI/AAAAAAAACEQ/b5qcbxAP9s0/s1600/IMG_6503.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_X3iVa-MoeM/UViybV7LlUI/AAAAAAAACEQ/b5qcbxAP9s0/s1600/IMG_6503.JPG" height="320" width="213" /></a></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #b45f06;">I decided to make an apron that is fun and actually fits me comfortably! Thanks to the neck tie being made of jeans, you only need one knot to hold it up. Since I used the seam down the legs, the cuff portion of it makes the end of the tie already finished :)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LIWiQGIvj8k/UViydFr4zwI/AAAAAAAACEY/Paj1O0W-5d0/s1600/IMG_6505.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: #b45f06;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LIWiQGIvj8k/UViydFr4zwI/AAAAAAAACEY/Paj1O0W-5d0/s1600/IMG_6505.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #b45f06;">For the main part of the apron, I opted for the back half of the jeans, as they are much bigger than the front half of them. (I know this because I took them apart at the seams to preserve the original jean seam. I added some ruffles for a fun feel and this was my first attempt at ruffles even. Not so hard after all!</span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7BYgZwWqW3I/UViyeMEaM8I/AAAAAAAACEk/FFZCr0H-cbg/s1600/IMG_6506.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: #b45f06;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7BYgZwWqW3I/UViyeMEaM8I/AAAAAAAACEk/FFZCr0H-cbg/s1600/IMG_6506.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #b45f06;">So fun, and now I am excited to get in the kitchen and cook!</span></div>

Roxy Deserved some of my talents. Her last collar I made has lasted a year, but was in rough shape for sure! I decided to embellish this time with a metallic thread and the use of my machines fun stitches. Last time I used reinforced fabric scraps, but found that it did stretch loads over time. I guess that might be due to Roxy's love for water. It is a little wide for her body size, but she doesn't seem to mind :)<div>

More to come as my March Break Sewing Frenzy gets started! I have 4 quilt tops to finish this week! So I have been busy but not willing to post unfinished projects :)</div>

Stay posted, this time next week, there will be new posts coming!<br /><br /></div>

My stockings are done and ready to be hung, so Christmas please come fast :D</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had 2 sweaters I absolutely loved, and couldn't bare to part with, but the just didn't fit me anymore. So, I turned them into stockings for Ryan and I to use. I think they both have great character and will be a great conversation piece for years to come. So simple, easy and fun to do!</div>

Tired of the boring ones, but too cheap to pay for a fancy one, just because it is pretty and brand name. So....Why not attempt to make one?! 4 broken needles later, and more time logged at the machine than I can remember. I bought the fabric at a sale in my shop, knowing I wanted it for something fun. I am happy with my final product and can't wait to show it off at the gym Tuesday :D I will admit, I wont be jumping at the chance to make another anytime soon. So much work, loads of cutting but worth all of that fooling around!</div>

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8YTl8JUAkPc/ULuQQJrtqGI/AAAAAAAAB94/NPtUdRBGa8U/s1600/IMG_6288.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8YTl8JUAkPc/ULuQQJrtqGI/AAAAAAAAB94/NPtUdRBGa8U/s1600/IMG_6288.JPG" height="133" width="200" /></a>So, I started this project at 1:30 and I was done at 5pm (roughly). The only thing that was left was to wash it and see what magic unfolds during that process! I made an amazing floor mat with a process called Chenilling. Essentially, I had to layer 3 goes of the print on top of each other. I had to be sure the flowers were line up on top of each other, so that the image stays sharp in the final project. It is then sew down in rows to a background and backing. Everyone else in the course used panels, I didn't like any of the panels, so I picked a nice fabric!</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QqlT2W6IyFc/ULuRRmqd2fI/AAAAAAAAB-M/OgQO3RrKH2E/s1600/IMG_6290.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QqlT2W6IyFc/ULuRRmqd2fI/AAAAAAAAB-M/OgQO3RrKH2E/s1600/IMG_6290.JPG" height="133" width="200" /></a> After that, you take this lovely little cutter meant for this, and slice your fabric! Just don't cut the background our backing, it could ruin the whole thing :( Slicing the thing up was rather easy and quick to do! I threw on the binding and popped it in the wash.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right; text-align: right;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-shNMnnJQ1gs/ULuQzlfR9cI/AAAAAAAAB-A/7pGQi_thFMI/s1600/IMG_6289.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-shNMnnJQ1gs/ULuQzlfR9cI/AAAAAAAAB-A/7pGQi_thFMI/s1600/IMG_6289.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Pre-wash!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I ran it through the wash twice. The second time with other item to help encourage fraying of the fabric. The truth is, the more this gets washed, the better and softer it will get! I think it is stunning! I made my gaps big enough, so you see the flowers still, but see some background popping through too! I can see me doing this process more :) So simple, fun and interesting to see what happens.<br />

I told you I was being really productive! So this afternoon I made Cup Cozies! I am tired of getting my black coffee and the cup being so hot! I also feel environmentally irresponsible asking for it to be double cupped and wasting a second cup, for my hand comfort. So, a cup cozy is my answer!<div>
<br />
This fabric was something I picked up in the US 2 summers ago from a scrap bin. I paid 25 cents for this piece and have made 4 cozies from it. I thought it was such fun fabric and was waiting to make it into something equally fun. I think this is just it :) I also used some old buttons that come with clothes when you buy them...or I pulled them off clothes that I was turning into rags.<br />

<br />
I believe this will be a great way to use up some scraps of both fabric and batting....but I may need to start finding homes for them.....</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Picking the fabric for these is always interesting. I called it "I have Points" because ladies were losing the points on their stars in the sewing process. I have mine! (Except for where the binding on the edge seems to have snipped them...oops) I was told fabric A (my yellow) will touch all other fabrics except E (tie dye). A is the background B, C and D will be main fabrics (pink, green and blue/pink). From that you need to pink your colors, and she gives a sample of the colors she used. I started my color choice by picking the pink/green batik that I had just picked up at a sale. I also had the green in my stash. From there we grabbed the others I needed to make this quilt work!</div>
<div style="clear: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZeYD1-0T_64/UJaTemB6KBI/AAAAAAAAB7U/P_1jtKUdZG8/s1600/IMG_6266.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="264" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZeYD1-0T_64/UJaTemB6KBI/AAAAAAAAB7U/P_1jtKUdZG8/s1600/IMG_6266.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now, just like picking the colors, the instructions are just a odd. You need to be able to keep the clues straight, in order to remember what you are doing :) So for instance, I had to cut A into 3.5 inch strips and sub-cut into other sizes. In later clues, you have to take 'clue 2 and place it to the left of clue 12 and sew together'. It is always interesting to see what comes of it and to see how everyone's can be so different all because of their color choices!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--5NFzqOAY5k/UJaUG_ULMCI/AAAAAAAAB7c/u_6iQUsOW9w/s1600/IMG_6267.JPG" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/--5NFzqOAY5k/UJaUG_ULMCI/AAAAAAAAB7c/u_6iQUsOW9w/s1600/IMG_6267.JPG" width="266" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I really love this one, and I opted to put 'minky' on the back Minky is just a very soft fabric. My plan is to have this here for little ones when they visit as a comfort blanket, or for a play blanket for the super young ones :) I quilted it together via the 'free motion' technique on my own machine. The minky is a pain in the bum to do this with, as it likes to stick to the surface under the weight of your hands and the rest of the quilt. I think it was well worth the fight though! I also used a new type of thread, 'Invisiline'. That despite the color of the thread, or the color of the fabric, it blends in nicely and isn't that fishing line quality 'invisible' thread.</div>

I promise, I have been working on stuff, just not finishing any of it, oops!</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--lIsxEzndLk/UJW2MaqusGI/AAAAAAAAB6o/Gvql4jK_f5I/s1600/IMG_6258.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--lIsxEzndLk/UJW2MaqusGI/AAAAAAAAB6o/Gvql4jK_f5I/s1600/IMG_6258.JPG" width="320" /></a>This however I have finished :) Everyone else in the class bought the kit. I thought it was a little boring! You know the old Christmas colors with the tacky poinsettia print and the likes. Makes me think of K-mart Christmas! I thought I would go with the more cheerful jewel toned Christmas and see how it goes. Well, this is what I ended up with. I think it's pretty cool. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Maybe not the type of Jammin' you were thinking of....but hey...it works!</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-r9vt1wG04Ww/UFYVvRn7QtI/AAAAAAAAB5k/kGXd_JvP__U/s1600/IMG_5684.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-r9vt1wG04Ww/UFYVvRn7QtI/AAAAAAAAB5k/kGXd_JvP__U/s320/IMG_5684.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is for a contest that mom sent me. I had to use the white for the background, and use the blueberry fabric with white background within the block. You are allowed to make the block in any technique you like. So I went with Applique, as it is something I am still learning. Thought part of the jar lid, I did as paper piecing, to help give it a ruffled look, like that you would get putting fabric on a jar lid :)</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6Ts7UNQxKG0/UFYVWjqypII/AAAAAAAAB5c/epjp-1c7o2k/s1600/IMG_5683.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6Ts7UNQxKG0/UFYVWjqypII/AAAAAAAAB5c/epjp-1c7o2k/s320/IMG_5683.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I was at my shop, trying to find something that would work to make 'jam', and my instructor said she had just the thing in her stash at home. Low and behold, the large blueberry, print, that works perfectly! I kept the background of the tile as the simple white block, instead of trying to do something fancy and messing it up. As I only had so much of their white fabric to work with from the kit.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now this block is in the mail back to my mom, so she can submit it on my behalf. The prize is winning 20 of the submitted blocks to make a quilt with. Not sure what I would ever do with it, but being in Ontario, it could be fun to win a few pieces of 'home' made by locals :) </div>

<span style="color: red;">Nothing super fabulous....unless you spend time on my couch! The pillow on the Right was the original, made a year ago. I picked up the fabric for the other 2 back in November while I was on sick leave. I started them back in march and was at a stand still because I needed zippers. While, there they are, looking pretty good. Time to start breaking them in I think! :D</span>Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00976915021617213679noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6119625813213774140.post-5324361499549612532012-08-29T18:00:00.001-07:002012-08-29T18:11:27.537-07:00Monkey Around<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: magenta;">So, I know I didn't sew this, but it still counts! I used some awesome fabric, little canvas pieces that I picked up and some mod podge. <span style="color: #b45f06;">I was asked to make something as a donation item to raffle tickets off on. I was told to keep the cost to a minimum, and trust me, things can get expensive in a hurry. I thought this task over for a bit, and looked at what I already had. I decided to take the 'Zen-Doodle' or 'Zen-Tangle' art form and apply it to my free motion quilting that I love so much. </span></div>

<span style="color: #38761d;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="color: #38761d;">I managed to make this whole project with scraps I had on hand, and getting some shared fabrics from a friend in my sewing class. I call this item 'Pieced' for a few reasons. I feel a little at peace having the pieces of this project together and not floating around my house. This required a new technique called Paper Piecing and this is also earned it's name because it's a lot like life. </span><br />
<span style="color: #38761d;"></span><br /><span style="color: #38761d;"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JxFm8r0rL-c/UAcVzehwtKI/AAAAAAAABzc/xB-gu1laVpw/s1600/IMG_4191.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JxFm8r0rL-c/UAcVzehwtKI/AAAAAAAABzc/xB-gu1laVpw/s320/IMG_4191.JPG" width="213" /></a></div>
<span style="color: #38761d;">Life a million things that happen, that make you frustrated, that don't work, and yet they do. It's because one thing can make your life come to pieces (or so it seems), yet the great people of your life help you to hold it together like the threads here. That we aren't sure why things happen, but it's another piece of our puzzle in life and it fits in or we try to hard to make it fit, that we manage to get that item to work. To me, this project is ALL of those things in life, represented in fabric.</span><br />

<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OpE1gyJBsSk/UAcSfVCWtZI/AAAAAAAAByM/dMdeKFvmEWY/s200/IMG_4118.JPG" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="133" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Front side</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="color: #38761d;"></span><br /><span style="color: #38761d;"></span><br />
<span style="color: #38761d;">My husband looked at it, and said "in the top I see a sun, then the water, a boardwalk with a field and playground on the side of it. It's a park on a nice day!". I thought this was a great interpretation of my project too, that he pulled based on my colors and where I put them. I thought it was fun and it inspired the machine quilting patterns that I used to finish it. Regardless, this is a wall hanging that I will enjoy for many years :)</span><br />

</tbody></table>
<span style="color: #38761d;"></span><br /><span style="color: #38761d;"></span><br />
<span style="color: #38761d;">Paper piecing required me to draw the pattern our on paper, but in the mirror of what I wanted it to be. I then would sew the fabric onto the paper and remove the paper after. It was rather interesting to work this way and see the project complete itself.</span><br />
<span style="color: #38761d;"></span><br /><span style="color: #38761d;"></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #38761d;"><br /></span><div>

<div>
<span style="color: #38761d;">Once all the sections were made, I had to sew them all together onto the muslin that will act as my base. Once I had everything where I wanted it, I had to add the pretty lines of fabric that divides each section from another. That required me to cut my fabric on the bias (with the stretch) and pres it into a little fold of fabric that I could then sew into my project.</span><br /><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right; text-align: right;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Yay the paper piecing is ready to go!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="color: #38761d;"></span><br /><span style="color: #38761d;"></span><br />
<span style="color: #38761d;">I decided to do the quilting on the fabric in invisible thread, only because I didn't want to take away from the fabric itself. However, up close in person, you can see the pattern I sewed into each section is different, and represents what my husband thought each section was in relation to the park scene. It certainly has added some great texture! For the border, I decided to go with a plain brown and a fun metallic green thread to have some fun. I tried out a sewing technique that is suppose to look like bamboo growing in nature. I think it is too fun and totally me!</span><br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">ready to be cut and layered</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="color: #38761d;"></span><br /><span style="color: #38761d;"></span><br />
<span style="color: #38761d;">I can't wait to get something that I can hang this up with, so I can enjoy this project :D I absolutely love this and I think it carries so many meanings. It tells a story for sure, but what do you see in it?</span><br />

<span style="color: #783f04;">...So this is how it all started...</span></h2>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4g0hroHDq7s/T-pChamAN5I/AAAAAAAABxg/7Qk4IX1MFwk/s1600/IMG_3281.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="background-color: white; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><span style="color: #783f04;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4g0hroHDq7s/T-pChamAN5I/AAAAAAAABxg/7Qk4IX1MFwk/s640/IMG_3281.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #783f04;">My First Quilt With Matching Pillows</span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="color: #783f04;">...I was at Aunt Liz's, looking at patterns and was interested in starting a quilt. A co-worker was kind enough to hook me up with some free patterns from the dear old friend, Internet. I took that pattern to a shop with Aunt Liz, and picked out the above fabric. I bought what the pattern said and was blown away at the cost. Mostly because it was just the fabric to complete the top of a 'lap quilt' and it was suppose to be 'on sale'. Regardless I was eager to try this out.</span><br />
<span style="color: #783f04;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="color: #783f04;">So I sat for hours, trying to master the rotary cutter, rulers, mats and figuring out this whole thing from vague instructions (at the time I didn't realize how horrible they were, until I was in the thick of it). I had already decided when I picked out the fabric to complete this project for my Mom. I had picked out the colors, keeping in mind something country, something spa and something not so crazy. It took me long enough to complete this little lap thing, with way to much fabric left over. Aunt Liz again helped me in the process of learning to sandwich the layers and quilt it together. Nothing was square when I was done, and we were doing our best to make it work. I had no idea about 'squaring up' before sewing each block together. Clearly a very valuable lesson learned.</span><br />
<span style="color: #783f04;"><br /></span><br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right; margin-left: 1em; text-align: right;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cIIKoMeeLdk/T-pGonXCY5I/AAAAAAAABxs/AFecyhwoHKc/s1600/IMG_2380.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><span style="color: #783f04;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cIIKoMeeLdk/T-pGonXCY5I/AAAAAAAABxs/AFecyhwoHKc/s320/IMG_2380.JPG" width="213" /></span></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #783f04;">Mom's Christmas Pillows</span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="color: #783f04;">So nearly a year later, I decided to use the lefty over fabric and create my mother some matching pillows, as you see above. She was thrilled to get these, as she greatly loved the ones I had given her at Christmas. The fabric I had also picked out at the same time I bought the quilt fabric, I guess I knew I was going to like doing this. The reason for the pillows was because my mother ALWAYS had these thing pancakes she claims were pillows. So I wanted there to be something nice the next time I visited, you know, pillows, not pancakes. (You make think I am exaggerating calling them pancakes, but they literally were only 1/2 inch thick!) </span><br />
<span style="color: #783f04;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="color: #783f04;">So this was my FIRST EVER quilt and the start of all other things to come....the fabric stash, the upgrade in machine, numberous classes to learn and do more, time at Aunt Liz's and trying to share the quilting love with my loved ones. The pillows, they were my 3rd through to 6th pillow, and I have yet to finish the other 2 that are here for me....one of these days....</span>Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00976915021617213679noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6119625813213774140.post-71407539320084874402012-06-22T18:39:00.002-07:002012-06-22T18:43:25.225-07:00<br />

I now find myself looking for beach glass anytime I am on a beach. I have been able to bring her back sea glass from the Bahamas, I think she enjoyed that.</span></div>
