Blue Jean and Polka Dots!

Now you might be wondering, what would one make with an old pair of jeans that are way too big now, and some polka dot fabric?  Well.....

I decided to make an apron that is fun and actually fits me comfortably!  Thanks to the neck tie being made of jeans, you only need one knot to hold it up.  Since I used the seam down the legs, the cuff portion of it makes the end of the tie already finished :)

For the main part of the apron, I opted for the back half of the jeans, as they are much bigger than the front half of them.  (I know this because I took them apart at the seams to preserve the original jean seam.  I added some ruffles for a fun feel and this was my first attempt at ruffles even.  Not so hard after all!

So fun, and now I am excited to get in the kitchen and cook!

Dog Days of Winter....

Roxy Deserved some of my talents.  Her last collar I made has lasted a year, but was in rough shape for sure! I decided to embellish this time with a metallic thread and the use of my machines fun stitches.  Last time I used reinforced fabric scraps, but found that it did stretch loads over time.  I guess that might be due to Roxy's love for water.  It is a little wide for her body size, but she doesn't seem to mind :)

More to come as my March Break Sewing Frenzy gets started!  I have 4 quilt tops to finish this week!  So I have been busy but not willing to post unfinished projects :)

Stay posted, this time next week, there will be new posts coming!
